About

Nur Hidayati Handayani, Digital Health Researcher and Co-Design Practitioner

I design and build digital health interventions that translate behavioural science and lived experience into products people actually use. I specialise in co-designing health products with users, translating behavioural theory into practical features, and building systems that support sustainable behaviour change.

Current Role

I am currently co-creating a Family App designed to prevent intergenerational obesity during pregnancy and the first year after birth. The project combines behavioural science with co-design to develop an intervention that fits into the realities of everyday family life. I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Joint Doctorate Fellow, conducting research across two European universities as part of an EU-funded doctoral programme. My work sits at the intersection of health, behavioural science, and digital innovation.

Selected Experiences

  1. Co-designed digital and life skills interventions with UNICEF, including contributions to youth-centred programmes in humanitarian contexts
  2. Worked as a mental health counsellor, applying trauma-informed approaches in practice
  3. Developed and tested digital health concepts using co-design methodologies with diverse populations
  4. Published research on patient experiences and health systems, with a focus on making evidence accessible and actionable

Affiliations

I am based between Trinity College Dublin/ TCD (Ireland) and KU Leuven (Belgium). My research is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework.
